Love, in Americus, were held at the church at 11 o’clock Sunday morning. The interment was made in the Lowe lot in the Americus cemetery. The pall-bearers were S.M. Bell, D.A. Cowser, W.S. McAuley, Andrew Moon, W.M. Moore and S.S. Wheeler. Mary Arney was born in Perry county, Pennsylvania, June 1, 1846. At the close of the Civil War, in 1865, she married Joseph Lowe. In 1879 Mr. and Mrs. Lowe moved to Americus, where they lived until Mr. Lowe died in 1893. To this union were born four sons and one daughter, all of whom have their homes at Americus. The children are William H., John Jr., Wesley and Frank B. Lowe, and Mrs. Lillie May Phelan. Among Mrs. Grimmett’s other immediate relatives are her aged mother, Mrs. Susan Arney, of Womelsdorf, Pa., who is 95 years old, and six grandchildren, who all live at Americus. In 1897 Mrs. Lowe was married to Mr. Enoch Grimmett, of Americus, who died in 1906; and since that time Mrs. Grimmett has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Lillie Phelan. Although Mrs. Grimmett had been seriously ill for a number of months, she had been feeling more comfortable than usual, and had been taken to her son’s home for a short visit. It was while she was visiting there that death suddenly came. Mrs. Grimmett had made a profession of religion when young, and had lived a consistent Christian through all of her life. She was a loving mother, a kind neighbor, a sympathetic friend, and will be mourned by many, to whom she has been a help in time of trouble or sorrow. Emporia Gazette, Emporia, Ks.
