Description	:	Mary Barbara Miller Ricke was born in Goodfarm Township, Gundy County, Garner, Ill., October 9, 1859, and died at her home in Marathon, Iowa, July 23, 1926, at the age of sixty-seven years, nine months and fourteen days. She had had a lengthy illness. Until the time of her marriage, she lived in Illinois, in the vicinity where she was born. In 1879 she was united in marriage to Henry Ricke. Read More	Mary Barbara Miller Ricke was born in Goodfarm Township, Gundy County, Garner, Ill., October 9, 1859, and died at her home in Marathon, Iowa, July 23, 1926, at the age of sixty-seven years, nine months and fourteen days. She had had a lengthy illness. Until the time of her marriage, she lived in Illinois, in the vicinity where she was born. In 1879 she was united in marriage to Henry Ricke. They continued to live in Illinois until they moved to Fulda, Minnesota, where they lived for four years and then moved back to Illinois where they lived for ten years. In 1901 they moved to Marathon and lived in this vicinity the remainder of their lives. Mrs. Ricke was preceeded in death by her husband, who passed away in 1919. Mrs. Ricke joined Church early in life and has been a member of the Methodist Church at Marathon since she moved here and was a loyal member at the time of her death. She worked so faithfully in the Church that she will be greatly missed. In her home, in her Church and in her community she always tried to do her duty. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W. F. Smtih of Marathon and Mrs. Geo. Burkhart of Gardner, Ill., two sons, J. A. Ricke of Varina and J. F. Ricke of Benson, Minnesota; one sister, Mrs. Rose Ames of Chicago; a brother, J. F. Miller of Naperville, Illinois; a half brother, Frank Chappel; twenty-one grand-children and two great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Maud Crowe, and a son, Benjamin, Preceeded her in death. The sympathy of a host of friends is extended to these bereaved ones in their great loss. Funeral Services were conducted Sunday, July 25, from the Methodist Church at Marathon, with the Rev. E. ?. Briggs in charge. Interment was made in the Marathon cemetery.
