She never married OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, April 12, 1945 MARY BIGHAM Mary Bigham, daughter of John and Mary Bigham, was born in Mahaska county, Iowa, on Feb. 11, 1859, and departed this life at the Baker Nursing Home in Chariton, Iowa, on April 8, 1945, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 28 days. When a young girl she moved with her parents to a farm near Chariton, and has resided in Chariton since the death of her father in 1903. In her earlier years she spent much time in dressmaking, but had been an invalid for many years and for twelve years has been in a wheel chair. She was ever cheerful and bore her sufferings patiently and uncomplainingly. In 1891 she united with the Chariton Christian church and remained a faithful member until her death. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Anna M. Kneeland, of Guthrie Center, Iowa. Funeral services, conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. T. Bloom, of the Christian church, were held at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Mrs. Frank Dunshee funeral home, and burial was in the Brownlee cemetery.
