Mary was born on November 17, 1922 on a family farm north of Pickardville, ND. She was the daughter of Peter and Katherine (Schell) Boehm. She attended the Profit Country School #2 through the 8th grade. Mary married Julius Helm on August 3, 1940 in McClusky. Mary enjoyed life to the fullest and was always ready to try something new. She loved nature, the outdoors, her dogs and cats. Her home was always open for company and a good meal. Mary was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and LWML of McClusky for many years. She was a member of the Red Hats in her later years and the McClusky Senior Citizens. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, ceramics, and reading. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mary and Julius traveled to 49 states in their retirement years. Following Julius death, she continued to travel often alone. Mary is survived by her children, Diane (Allen) Dockter of Bismarck, Pearl (Steve) Kensmoe of McClusky, Wayne (Lynn) Helm of McClusky, Rick Helm of Beulah; grandchildren, Craig Dockter, Rhonda Jolliffe, Jason Dockter, Kelly Helm, Kevin Helm, Kent Kensmoe, Jennifer Tengsdahl, and Mike Helm; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Sirgy, Sydney Sirgy, Nicklaus Jolliffe, Benjamin Jolliffe, Ashley Dockter, Landon Dockter, Aspen Helm, Aurora Helm, Jorgen Tengsdahl, Aubrey Tengsdahl, Kennedy Kensmoe, and McKenna Kensmoe. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Julius; sister, Barbara Jesz; brothers, Peter, Steve, Mike, Valentine and Edward. The Helm family wishes to thank the Missouri Slope Care Center and St. Alexius Hospital for their fine care.
