She actually died, per death record and obituary information, on Sunday, July 9, 1922. She was buried on July 11, 1922. Perhaps the engraver of her inscription was provided with the incorrect DOD or they misinterpreted the burial date for being the death date. The DOD for this memorial is being changed to July 9, 1922, but with the obvious caution that the headstone inscription is in error. Mrs. Gordon is 94 (sic. not correct; should be aged 92y 8m 22d) years of age and has been in poor health for some time. She has been with her neice (sic) since some time last wnter (sic)."
