Description	:	Obituary: Mary Caroline Fricke was born in chicago, Ill, on January 15, 1855. She was the oldest child of Ernest and Dorathea Fricke. In her infancy she was baptized and at the age of 15 years she was confirmed in the Lutheran church in West Chicago. In 1870 the family moved to Buckley Ill. There she was married to Henry A. Read More	Obituary: Mary Caroline Fricke was born in chicago, Ill, on January 15, 1855. She was the oldest child of Ernest and Dorathea Fricke. In her infancy she was baptized and at the age of 15 years she was confirmed in the Lutheran church in West Chicago. In 1870 the family moved to Buckley Ill. There she was married to Henry A. Beman on November 27, 1873. This union was blessed with nine children. Obituary: In 1896 the Beman family came to Jackson County, Kansas, and moved on a farm 1 1/2 miles east of Netawaka. Mrs. Beman lived on this farm until she moved to her home in Netawaka, where she lived till the time of her death. Mrs. Beman with her husband and children became affiliated with Immanuel Lutheran church when they came to Netawaka. She remained a faithful member of this church throughout her life. Mentally and spiritually she remained remarkably alert for a person of her age, and she retained an interest in the affairs of her church and the community. She departed this life in the Holton hospital Friday morning, October 12, at the age of 90 years, 8 months, and 27 days. Obituary: Mrs. Beaman's husband passed away in 1912. Three sons and three daughters also preceded their mother in death. She is survived by one son, Charles Beaman of Wetmore, and two daughters, Emma, Mrs. George Denker of Ottawa, Kas.; and Bertha, Mrs. H.J. Gerhardt of Netawaka; by 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchildren (sic); also by one brother, Wm. Fricke of Lakefield, Minnesota, and other relatives. Obituary: The funeral service for Mrs. Beaman was conducted by her pastor, Otto C. Mueller in the Gabel and McAssey Mortuary in Holton and in Immanuel Lutheran church in Netawaka Sunday afternoon, October 14. The body was laid to rest in the Netawaka cemetery. In 1896 the Beman family came to Jackson County, Kansas, and moved on a farm 1 1/2 miles east of Netawaka. Mrs. Beman lived on this farm until she moved to her home in Netawaka, where she lived till the time of her death.
