Read More	The Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, November 29, 1945; pg. 1 SVOBODA - KATHMAN At a very beautiful wedding ceremoony (sic) performed at Sacred Heart Church Tuesday morning at 8:00 o'clock a. m. on November 27, Miss Mary Svoboda became the bride of Mr. Edmund Kathman. Rev. Otto Ekhaml officiating at the marriage vows, and also singing the Nuptial High Mass which followed. The bride chose as her attendants, her sisters, the Misses Helen and Norma Jeanne Svoboda. The groom was attended by his brother, Bill and Andy Frey, a close friend. The bride was lovely in a dress of bridal white, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, which was rimmed with shadow lace. The princess sleeves were pointed at the wrist, the fitted bodice and peplum was of taffeta with Irish lace trim. The shadow lace skirt fell into a four-yard train. She carried a Prayer book with white satin streamers which held orange blossoms from her mother's wedding wreath. She also wore her mother's cross and chain. Miss Helen Svoboda wore a floor length dress of pink made with a satin bodice and marquisette skirt over taffeta. Miss Norman Jean wore a formal blue marquisette dress trimmed in pink. They both carried blue rosaries and wore corsages of pink roses and white carnations. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for eighty guests. A wedding dinner was served at noon. In the evening the newlyweds entertained their numerous friends at a dance in the Parish Hall. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe E. Svoboda of Glenvil and is a graduate of Lawrence high school. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kathman of St. Stephens, both were born and grew to maturity in this community and have a host of friends who extend congratulations and the best of wishes for their future happiness. ==========================
