Then the sorrowing company repaired to Pleasant Hill where further services were held in the church. Pastor Frank Weston was in charge. Mrs. Maru E. Abraham, Delia Alden, Frank Wright and Frank Abraham, with Betha Wright as accompanist, sang. “It is Well with my Soul,” “Sometime We’ll Understand.” “Safe In the Arms of Jesus “and “Rock of Ages.” The pall bearers were Otho Walter, Percival and Ralph Myers, and Earl and Raymond Bartlett, all grandchildren of the deceased. Pastor Weston spoke from Hebrews 12: 2 Mrs. Myers was the third daughter of Ambrose and Mary Ann (Terry) Baker, and was born at Hamden, Delaware County, New York, November 24, 1844. When she was but a few months old her parents removed to Tioga County, Pennsylvania, where she and William Myers were united in marriage on August 27, 1863. Her husband, who was an honored veteran of the civil war, died in December 1905. Two infant sons and another son, Edgar Ambrose Myers, who died but a short time ago, preceded her in death. The children remaining to mourn the departure of this excellent mother are Emerson Myers, Mrs. Della Bartlett, Arthur Myers, Ray Myers, Mrs. Teressa Simon and Mrs. Grace Elliott. All of them were with her in her last illness. She also leaves eighteen, grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the last of the family of five daughters and one son. She was converted in early life and united with the Methodist Protestant church. Later she transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal church. She was a member of the local W.R.C. and was active when her health and strength would permit. She filled faithfully her station in life. She was a devoted wife and mother, a true friend and a hospitable neighbor. Her family has the sympathy of hundreds of the people of this section of Iowa.
