Description	:	Mary Curry, of Winchester, Virginia, married Patrick McKeown, an immigrant to the United States from County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Patrick was a civil engineer who had entered into contracts with the state of Virginia to build a section of the Northwestern Turnpike (now Route 50) between Winchester, Virginia, and what is now Salem, West Virginia. After completing the work, Patrick was unable to collect the $50,000 promised to him by the state of Virginia, since by the completion date the highway was located in West Virginia, and the state of West Virginia would not pay for the work... The couple had been married by a Catholic priest, since Patrick was Catholic, but Mary and her family were Protestants. After the marriage, Mary and her children attended the Point Pleasant Methodist Church at Maken, West Virginia. Mary, Patrick, and their children are buried at the Coplin Church Cemetery, located between Maken and Jarvisville, West Virginia.
