On January 4, 1880, she was united in marriage to Mr. Jacob Ritterbush. She became the step-mother of Mr. Ritterbush's two children, now Mrs. R.G. Bush and Mrs. Charley Geary. She came with her parents to Lincoln and to Pleasant Hill, and later to Nelson, Nebr. Her father being a printer, established himself in this business in Nelson. On January 4, 1880, she was united in marriage to Mr. Jacob Ritterbush. She became the step-mother of Mr. Ritterbush's two children, now Mrs. R.G. Bush and Mrs. Charley Geary. Her own life was blessed with four children: Mrs. Winifred Jones, Mildred, Fred and Charles Ritterbush. Besides these children she leaves to mourn her sudden departure an aged mother and two sisters, her husband having preceded her in death since December 25, 1927. At a very early age she affiliated herself with the Christian Church. She later in life transferred her membership to the Presbyterian Church. Besides being interested in her church, she took a vital interest in all the worthwhile activities of the community. She was a charter member of the Eastern Star. She had served continuously on the Library board from its very beginning. The Relief Corps was honored by having her as a charter member. Not only was she a charter member of the Woman's Club but she also served as its first president. Her Christian faith is indicated by the fact that when she was suffering the most intense pain she said to her loved ones by her side, "these words come to me," and then she started to sing "O Angels bear me away on your snowy white wings." And they said to her, "Don't think that way," and she replied, "I am not, they are singing it around me." Certainly her character shall serve as a constant challenge to those she leaves to mourn. The funeral service is being held from the home in which she had lived nearly all of her married life, this afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev. Carl O. Olsen, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, conducted the service. The Eastern Star will have charge at the cemetery.
