Description	:	Mrs. Elizabeth Blades, highly respected and esteemed resident of this city and wife of Luther Blades, passed away on Sunday last at the Peninsula General Hospital, Salisbury where she had been a patient for four days. The daughter of the late Levin Denson and Lydia Townsend Denson, Mrs. Blades was eighty-two years of age at her passing, which came as a distinct shock to her wide circle of friends who are sincerely grieved at the death of one so near and dear to them. Read More	Mrs. Elizabeth Blades, highly respected and esteemed resident of this city and wife of Luther Blades, passed away on Sunday last at the Peninsula General Hospital, Salisbury where she had been a patient for four days. The daughter of the late Levin Denson and Lydia Townsend Denson, Mrs. Blades was eighty-two years of age at her passing, which came as a distinct shock to her wide circle of friends who are sincerely grieved at the death of one so near and dear to them. Mrs. Blades' many fine traits of character were well known to all those who knew and loved her. A noble, Christian woman, she will be sadly missed throughout the community. She was a fine neighbor and friend and a wonderful wife and mother and firmly believed in helping all those less fortunate than herself in every way possible. The esteem in which she was held by all was further depicted at the funeral services which were largely attended and at which there were many floral designs, tokens of love and esteem for this departed loved one. Services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from her late home on Potomac street and were conducted by Rev. J. Yancey Fincher, pastor of the Baptist Temple. Interment was in the family plot in the Crisfield Cemetery. Pall-bearers were Bob Carey, Fred Gerald, Edgar L. Riggin, Archie P. Tyler, Joseph S. McGrath, and Jack Murphy. Besides her husband, who is a patient at the U. S. Marine Hospital in Baltimore, she is survived by three children, James Blades, of Gastonia, N. C., Luther Blades, of Crisfield, Miss Caroline E. Blades, a nurse at the Salisbury hospital; a grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Laura Blades of this city. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Friday, October 18, 1940, p. 6
