Description	:	Mary Elizabeth Shoemaker Beitzel, 88 Mary Elizabeth was the child of Pennsylvania pioneers Peter A. Shoemaker and his wife Betsy Handwerk Shoemaker. She was born in Addison, Pa where she worked as a house servant for neighboring farmers. She met the immigrant German boy Henry Beitzel and they were married about 1863. They settled at Bittinger, Md on land "Hard Struggle" Henry was buying from Mr. Miller who helped pay the way to America. The Beitzels worked hard to raise ten children and make a home in a wilderness land. After her husband died, Mary lived with daughter...
