Born June 1, 1902, in Barnum, she was the daughter of the late O.A. Harrison and Ida (Frye) Harrison. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. "Wink"Hood, in 1968, whom she married Aug. 24, 1925; four brothers, Tommy Harrison, Paul Harrison, Samuel Harrison and Woodrow Harrison; one sister, Naomi Simmons; a great-granddaughter, Barbie Lynn Tulley; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hood; and son-in-law, Bernard Kady. Hampshire St., Piedmont, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser. Born June 1, 1902, in Barnum, she was the daughter of the late O.A. Harrison and Ida (Frye) Harrison. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. "Wink"Hood, in 1968, whom she married Aug. 24, 1925; four brothers, Tommy Harrison, Paul Harrison, Samuel Harrison and Woodrow Harrison; one sister, Naomi Simmons; a great-granddaughter, Barbie Lynn Tulley; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hood; and son-in-law, Bernard Kady. Mrs. Hood joined the Methodist Church, now Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, in 1932. She was a member of the Susannah Wesley Bible Class, United Methodist Women and the Koinonia Group of the church. She was a life member of the Burlington Home Family Services; a 50-year member of Kelly-Mansfield Unit 52, American Legion Auxiliary, where she held the office of president as well as other offices; a 50-year member of Calanthe Temple No. 8, Pythian Sisters, Piedmont, where she was a former past chief, the Piedmont Senior Citizens; and was a former volunteer for the United Organizations for over 20 years. She was also a member of the former Loyal Order of Moose and Tri-Towns Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, both of Piedmont. Surviving are three sons, William T. Hood and wife Marg, Piedmont, C. Edward Hood and wife Dorothy, Huntington, W.Va., and Robert S. Hood, Clearwater, Fla.; three daughters, Flora May Cook and husband Paul, Middletown, Md., Mary Lou Kady, Piedmont, and Nancy J. Moore and husband Charles, Keyser, W.Va.; two sisters, Mabel Crable, Lonaconing, Md., and Alice Lehman and husband Lloyd, Lakewood, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; seven step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may take the form of donations to Trinity United Methodist Church, Tri-Towns Fire Company #1, both of Piedmont, or the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad, Westernport, Md. Friends may call at the Fredlock Funeral Home in Piedmont on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Jarrett, the Rev. S.D. Sawyers, the Rev. Ed Hood, and the Rev. Meredith Ball officiating. Interment will be in the Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
