Read More	From page 1 of the September 14, 1905 Skidmore, Missouri New Era newspaper: In Memoriam Death likes a shining mark, and once again he has entered our midst and taken one of our brightest, fairest and loveliest characters and transplanted it in the land of the Leal. Mary E. Mitchell, the subject of this sketch, was the daughter of Joshua W. and R. A. Stevenson, and was born in Atchison county, Mo., on the thirtieth day of January, 1874. She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church under Rev. M. F. Sapp in 1887, was united in marriage with John S. Mitchell on September 27th, 1893; and departed this life to enter the life beyond on September 8th, 1905. She leaves a husband and four children, three girls and a baby boy, a father, mother, brother and several brothers-in-law and sister-in-law to mourn her departure. Of her children, the eldest is eleven years old and the youngest a babe of but a few months. Her death has cast a gloom over the entire community; she was a most tender, patient and devoted wife; a kind and loving mother; a generous, helpful, charitable neighbor; a constant, true friend; and a consistent, devout Christian.
