She passed away on Monday, January 23, 2006 in North Platte at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 23 days. Evelyn graduated from the Nelson High School in 1937. Survivors include 2 daughters, Kay and husband Jim Soper of San Antonio, Texas and Kathleen McDermott of Falls Church, Virginia; 3 grandchildren, Sali Gale of North Platte; Theresa Jaeger of Geneva, Illinois; and Mike Soper of San Antonio, Texas; 2 great grandchildren Joshua Gale and Grave Olivia Jaeger; and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband 'Jack"; her parents; 3 sisters Lois Thorpe, Mable Shipley and Gladys Gibson; and 2 brothers Delbert Dunken and Daniel Burton. Graveside services were held on Thursday, January 26, 2006 from the Nelson City Cemetery. Interment was in the Nelson City Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.
