August 6, 1964 - Rolfe Arrow - Funeral services were held July 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the Pocahontas Methodist church for Miss Mary Dockal, 52, lifetime resident of Pocahontas, who died July 26 in Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge, after an illness of about five years with cancer. Rev. Max Paige officiated. Burial was in Summit Hill cemetery. Mary Frances Dockal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dockal, was born at Pocahontas September 29, 1911. She graduated from Pocahontas high school in 1923 and attended business school in Des Moines after which she was employed in local offices and business establishments before accepting employment in county offices of the sheriff and the superintendent of schools. She was a member of Iris Chapter No. 396, O.E.S. and of the Past Matrons of the Wesleyan Service Guild of the Methodist church; and was serving as treasurer of the Pocahontas County American Cancer Society. Survivors include her mother now a resident of the Pocahontas Good Samaritan Center; three brothers, Lloyd of Fort Wayne, Ind., Frank of Pocahontas and James of Dubuque; and two sisters, Mrs. Laurel Buckley of Newton and Mrs. Earnest Johnson of Pocahontas. Her father died in 1943.
