Read More	LINDE, MARY FRANCES—Mary Frances Prescott Linde was born to Zahariah P. Prescott and Maude Anyan Prescott on April 2, 1892, at Ripley, Tn., and passed away on July 17, 1989, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 97 years, 3 months and 15 days. She was one of ten children in the family. Mary spent her early years in and around Ripley, Tn. And Manila, Ar. At the time of her marriage, she moved to Geneva, where she and her husband resided on a farm northwest of town and were engaged in farming until their retirement. At the time of their retirement, they moved to Jonesboro, Ar., to be near Mary’s aging parents. She returned wither husband to Geneva in 1966 and resided at 527 North 9th Street. Her declining years were spent at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont. Mary was married to Albert Linde on Geneva, on March 29, 1917, and to them four children were born. As a young woman, Mary was baptized into the Baptist faith. She was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed homemaking and handcrafts, especially crocheting and creating her own designs. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Albert; daughter, Mamie Lucile Swails; and by three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Holmes and husband, Murray L., of Geneva and Evelyn Hanes of Kingsport, Tn.; two sons, Gene Linde of Geneva and David Linde of Bountiful; Ut.; two brothers, Odell Prescott and Lester Prescott, both of Jonesboro, Ar.; one sister, Margaret Whittaker of Paramount, Cal., 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at the Geneva Public Cemetery in Geneva on Friday, July 21, with Pastor Dave L. Holland officiating. A special rendition of “When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder” was done by vocalist, Bill and Lita Jensen, accompanied by Lita’s guitar. Further memorial services were held at the Fairview Manor Chapel in Fairmont on Friday Afternoon, following the graveside services. The Nebraska Signal 27 July 1989 page 5.
