Description	:	Mrs. Goldena Raley Funeral services for Mrs. Goldena Raley were held Saturday Dec 17, 1986 at the Rifle Assembly of God Church. Burial was in the Divide Creek Union Cemetery. The Sowder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Raley was born Mary Goldena McPherson, the daughter of Daniel Alfonso and Mary Ellen Garver McPherson on Oct 29, 1908 in Arvada. The Sowder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Raley was born Mary Goldena McPherson, the daughter of Daniel Alfonso and Mary Ellen Garver McPherson on Oct 29, 1908 in Arvada. When she was five years of age the family moved to Divide Creek. She attended Mamm Creek rural school and later Fairview Rural school. Mrs. Raley graduated from Silt High School in 1928 as valedictorian of her class. Mrs Raley was untied in marriage with Rufus Wayne Raley at Glenwood Springs on Feb 11, 1930. After their wedding they lived nearly a year in Pueblo, returning to the Western Slope where they lived in various communities. They lived on their ranch in the Dry Hollow community for over twenty-one years before retiring. Mr Raley passed away on Dec 18, 1976. Mrs Raley has made her home near Rifle since the death of her husband. Mrs Raley was a member of the Rifle Southern Baptist Church and the Southern Baptist Missionary Women; she was also a longtime member of the Women of the Moose at Rifle. Was a Graduate Regent and a member of the College of Regents, having received her red stole. Was the first Colorado Deputy Grand. She also was a member in the Fairview Reading Club and the Mamm Creek Bridge Club. Mrs Raley passed away in Glenwood Springs on Dec 22, 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Esther Bagley; five grandchildren Ronald and Edward Patch, Jesse and Daniel Raley and Gerald Pollard; a great granddaughter, Brenda Patch. Survivors include two sons, Rev Dan Raley and his wife, Joyce, of Grand Junction and Errol and his wife, Patricia of Fruita; four daughters, Mrs Frank (Joyce) Bird of Denver, Mrs Alfred (Inez) Patch of New Castle, Mrs Phyllis Pollard of Rifle and Mrs Eugene (Bonnie) Hess of Manning, OR; five brothers, Kenneth McPherson of Meeker, Donald McPherson of Richland, OR, Bobby McPherson and Warren McPherson both of New Castle and Dale McPherson of Silt; four sisters, Fern Bagley of Silt, Mrs Bill (Flora) Moore of Meeker, Mrs Doy (Stella) McClung of Klamath Falls, OR and Mrs Donald (Natalie) Mesner of Lihue, Kauai, HI; twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. --The Rifle Telegram December 22, 1976
