Read More	Mary Ida Moser Walter Mrs. Ida Walker, daughter of Frederick and Rosena Bruny Moser, was born April 2, 1875 in Monroe County, Ohio, and passed away at the Murphy Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa, Friday, March 11, 1949. At the age of two, she came with her parents to make her home on what is known as the Old Moser Farm southwest of Brooks. her father was a dairy farmer in connection with his dairy business, he operated a small cheese factory. She was united in marriage, September 26, 1895 to Henry Walter. Her husband passed away October 15, 1945. In early married life, she and her husband settled on a farm in the Mt. Zion neighborhood. Except for brief intervals at Corning and in Oklahoma, they were residents of the community for forty years. In 1910 they moved to Oklahoma, but they soon found as they said that there "was no place like Iowa," and returned. In 1925, they moved to Corning for three years in order that their son Floyd might attend high school. In 1942, when they had come to the age of retirement, they settled in Corning. It was her that her husband passed away. She herself has been a Corning resident for eight years. On September 26, 1945, Mr. and Mrs. Walter celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Federated Church. Members of the Church with whom they had sustained an active relationship participated in the celebration. The wedding dinner was prepared by members of the Women's Association, the pastor presented a history of their marriage and home life, and the High School Sextet furnished music for the occasion. She leaves to mourn her loss, her three sons, Royce of Nodaway, Floyd of Brooks, and Joseph of Corning. Her three brothers, William Moser of Santa Barbar, California, Chas Moseer of Villisca, and Joseph of Council Bluffs. She leaves also eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs.. Walter will be remembered by friends in the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church for her fine quality of leadership and the depth of her spiritual life. She was a member and prominent leader of the church for over forty years. Members of the Federated Church in Corning with whom she has been associated for the past eight years will too miss her fine fellowship and will remember her faithfulness to the services of the church. In addition to her church connections, Mrs. Walter found enjoyable fellowship with the Clover Leaf Club in Corning. Funeral services were conducted at the Federated Church in Corning by Rev. Silas R. Overholser of the Presbyterian Church in Ealham, Iowa, assisted by Rev. Lawrence Murphy, Monday, March 14, 1949. Interment was made in the Methodist Grove Cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. Dean Rogers and Mrs. Don Hill accompanied by Mrs. Joseph Cook at the organ. Pallbearers were Robert Walter, Fred Walter, Wayne Walter, Quentin Carlson, Ronald Walter, and Robert Clark.
