Description	:	Mary Irene Gecowets Cook, 90, of Angola died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Angola. Mrs. Cook was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Rockford, Ohio, to Grover Cleveland and Ethel Irene (Street) Graham. Her first husband, Jerrold Gecowets, preceded her in death in 1972, and her second husband, Harry Cook, died in 1983. She graduated from high school in Rockford. She was a bookkeeper and head cashier at A&P, where she worked for 30 years. She was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church, and a 60-plus year member of the Order of the Eastern... Read More	Mary Irene Gecowets Cook, 90, of Angola died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Angola. Mrs. Cook was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Rockford, Ohio, to Grover Cleveland and Ethel Irene (Street) Graham. Her first husband, Jerrold Gecowets, preceded her in death in 1972, and her second husband, Harry Cook, died in 1983. She graduated from high school in Rockford. She was a bookkeeper and head cashier at A&P, where she worked for 30 years. She was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church, and a 60-plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a senior regent of the Angola Women of the Moose and a member of Carpe Diem. She volunteered for the Steuben County Well Child Clinic and the food pantry. Surviving are three sons, George Gecowets of Downer's Grove, Ill., Robert Gecowets of Angola and Richard Gecowets of Painsville, Ohio; three daughters, Janet Kemery of Fremont, Karen Appleman of Angola and Mary Jane Hess of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, Dewain Graham of Holland, Ohio; three sisters, Virginia Zizelman of Celina, Ohio, Marjorie Carver of Monroe and Kathrine Egger of Medway, Ohio; and 14 grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Stanley Gecowets, and two brothers, Eugene and James Graham. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, with the Rev. Laurence Smith officiating. Calling will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville, Ohio. Memorials are to the Steuben County Well Child Clinic.
