Description	:	Mary Stopher Humphrey was born Oct. 28, 1826 in Mercer Co., Pa. She was married to James Humphrey March 23, 1847*, and removed to Kansas in 1860. Ten children were born to them, eight of who are still living. She united with the Associate Presbyterian church while quite young, and upon coming to Kansas connected with the United Presbyterian church of Americus. Read More	Mary Stopher Humphrey was born Oct. 28, 1826 in Mercer Co., Pa. She was married to James Humphrey March 23, 1847, and removed to Kansas in 1860. Ten children were born to them, eight of who are still living. She was always found in her lace in the church on Sabbath whenever she was able to attend. She has been, a sufferer a number of years, yet she bore her afflictions patiently until the time of her release came and she fell asleep in Jesus. The funeral was held today at 10 o'clock. - Americus Greeting, February9, 1899 The community realizes that by the death of Mrs. Humphrey they have lost one who was a pattern to be patterned after as a Christian, as a helper always willing to help anyone in need.
