Barr, aged 78, died at her home east of Clarence Wednesday morning at 4 o'clock. She had been ill about ten days, suffering with neuralgia of the stomach. Mrs. Barr was the daughter of Jas. Clark and was born in the north part of this county, near Leonard, Sept. 29, 1849. The family moved from this neighborhood while she was still a small child and located on a farm six miles west off Shelbyville. At this home she was united in marriage to John W. Barr, Feb. 20, 1873. They made their home on the farm where Mr. Barr passed away some thirty years ago. Three sons, Oscar K., Barry Spencer, John Marvin and two daughters, Miss Belle Barr and Mrs. Gentry Carroll, survive their mother and two brothers and sisters, Robt. Clark of Idaho, W. S. Clark of Clarence, Fannie Kelso of California and Mrs. Eliza Cooper of Shelbyville. Mrs. Barr was a member of the Wesley Chapel congregation, a charter member of the organization. The funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 o'clock at Bacon Chapel and will be conducted by Rev. L. C. Maggart of Clarence. Burial will be in the cemetery at Bacon Chapel.
