Read More	Obit from the Manchester Press, 18 Apr 1907: Death of Mrs John Kerr Mrs John Kerr, for nearly half a century a resident of Delaware county, died at her home in this city April 11, 1907, at the age of 75 years. The funeral was held from the Manchester House, of which Mr and Mrs Kerr have long been proprietors, on Sunday morning at none o'clock, the sermon by Rev JK Wagner, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church. Interment was made in the Silver Creek cemetery, following a brief service in the church there conducted by Rev Elwood, pastor at Silver Creek and Ryan. Mrs Kerr died of pneumonia, after an illness of but one week's duration. She had not been well, however, for some time and was illy [sic] prepared to withstand the attack of that insidious and relentless disease. She is survived by her husband and five children, as follows: Mrs JF Ringler of Alliance, Nebraska, WH Johnston and Mrs WP Swindell of Minatare, Nebraska, , Mrs Chas F Kellogg of Grand Rapid, Michigan; and RW Johnston of Waterloo, Iowa. The latter, in a effort to reach his mother's bedside before she passed away, chartered a special train from Waterloo but unfortunately arrived here to late to find her alive. Mr Johnston had made several visits her during the week, and had returned to Waterloo during an apparent change for the better in her condition. Mrs Kerr was born in County Tryone, Ireland, April 3, 1832 and came to America in 1854. In 1858 she was married, in New York city, to Robert Johnston, who died in December, 1875. Mr and Mrs Johnston came to Delaware county in 186? [hard to read]. locating on a farm near Silver Creek. In 1865 removal was made to Manchester, since the home of the family. In January, 1878, Mrs Johnston was married to John Kerr, with who she lived most congenially and happily. If there ever was a good, faithful, devoted wife and mother, Mrs Kerr was one. She was warm hearted, charitable in thought and speech, and of the most generous and kindly nature. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and her life was in harmony with the profession she made. Her husband and children, who owe so much to her love and care and fidelity, will cherish her memory with an affection which cannot fade.
