Mrs. McAfee was born June 21, 1915 in Boone County to Thomas and Amanda (Brown) Loftus. She attended School District 71 in Boone County and Nance County schools. On July 20, 1940 she was married to Marvin McAfee at Columbus. They lived in Iowa for a year. They returned to Fullerton in 1943. They leased Clara's Cafe for one year. She did the cooking. Mary Jessie McAfee, 82, died February 13, 1998 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha. Mrs. McAfee was born June 21, 1915 in Boone County to Thomas and Amanda (Brown) Loftus. She attended School District 71 in Boone County and Nance County schools. On July 20, 1940 she was married to Marvin McAfee at Columbus. They lived in Iowa for a year. They returned to Fullerton in 1943. They leased Clara's Cafe for one year. She did the cooking. She was instrumental in starting the school lunch program at Fullerton Public Schools and worked at the school for several years. She enjoyed reading cooking and her family. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; the Presbyterian Afternoon Circle; Fullerton Women's Club, Fullerton American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 151; Fullerton Chapter No. 191, Order of the Eastern Star, for which she had served as worthy matron, and the Fullerton Area Senior Center. Survivors include her husband, Marvin; two daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Mary Eileen) Smith of Sterling, CO, and Mrs. Kevin (Carol) Kacer of Naples, FL; two grandchildren; one brother, Charles Loftus of Cincinnati, OH, and one sister, Lola Reed of Omaha. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Arthur, Thomas Jr., Elmer, Roy and an infant, and two sisters, Eda Whitney and Frances McIntyre.
