July 12, 1917 - Carroll Times - Miss Mary Brown passed away at St. Joseph's hospital, Omaha, Saturday, July the seventh, following a very serious operation for gall trouble. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Brown and was born in Carroll, March 18, 1884, where she has resided with her parents ever since. July 12, 1917 - Carroll Times - Miss Mary Brown passed away at St. Joseph's hospital, Omaha, Saturday, July the seventh, following a very serious operation for gall trouble. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Brown and was born in Carroll, March 18, 1884, where she has resided with her parents ever since. She was a charming young lady of refinement and culture and was dearly beloved by her family and many friends. Until four weeks ago she was in good health, when she was taken seriously sick and at the time she underwent her operation last week it was of so serious a nature that it was witnessed by fourteen physicians. The funeral was held from SS. Peter and Paul's church Tuesday morning, the Requiem High Mass being conducted by Father Kuemper. Besides her parents she leaves the following brothers and sisters: Barney G., at home; Lena, Mrs. J.M. Wiederhold; Josephine, Mrs. Joe Fromme, Jasper, Indiana; Lawrence J., of Sioux City; W.B. Brown, of Randolph, Nebraska; N.E. Brown, of Dallas, South Dakota; Frank Brown, of Howard, Kansas, and John P., at home. All the brothers and sisters were home for the funeral with the exception of Frank from Howard, Kansas.
