Description	:	The following comes from a writeup on page 233 of the Edgeley (ND) Centennial History Book, published in 1986: "Mary Lee was born in Edgeley in 1941. She attended Edgeley school and graduated from EHS in 1959. While in grade school, she delivered the Grit Magazine and, when in high school, she was Fargo Forum delivery girl. She had a beautiful voice and sang often for church and community functions. She was an honor student and received the McKenna Award and a scholarship from UND - Ellendale Branch. At college in Ellendale, she had the lead... Read More	The following comes from a writeup on page 233 of the Edgeley (ND) Centennial History Book, published in 1986: "Mary Lee was born in Edgeley in 1941. She attended Edgeley school and graduated from EHS in 1959. While in grade school, she delivered the Grit Magazine and, when in high school, she was Fargo Forum delivery girl. At college in Ellendale, she had the lead in their college play, "The Glass Menagerie." She became ill and died from an aneurysm at home while still a student at Ellendale in 1961." Tragedy struck the Bertrude and Erma Farnsworth family when their second and last child Mary Lee died in early adulthood. The death notice and obituary in the Thursday, January 19, 1961 edition of The Edgeley Mail describes her death and life as follows: "MARY FARNSWORTH DIES AT HER HOME HERE ON MONDAY This community was greatly shocked Monday when it was told that Mary Lee Farnsworth had died at her home early in the morning. She became very ill Sunday afternoon. Her condition became worse and about two o'clock Monday morning she died. Following an autopsy, a ruptured blood vessel in the abdomen was given as the cause of her death. Funeral services for Miss Farnsworth will be held at two o'clock on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 19, 1961, at the Edgeley Methodist church. Rev. R. A. Unkenholz, pastor, and Rev. R. E. Roe will officiate. Mary Lee Farnsworth was born March 28, 1941 to Mr. and Mrs. Bertrude M. Farnsworth at Edgeley. She was graduated as salutatorian of her class in 1959. She was a sophomore at N-I at Ellendale at the time of her death. There she continued as an honor student in her studies and worked at the college library. She was a member of the N-I Players. She was a member of the Methodist church. She was very active in the activities of the church and the school and was widely known for her singing. In the community she was recognized as an outstanding young lady. Survivors are her parents and one grandparent, Mrs. E. M. Farnsworth of Edgeley; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth, who drowned in July 1953."
