Description	:	Mary Louise Erb Coffey was born July 6, 1926 in Osceola, Iowa. She was the daughter of Otis LaValley and Minnie Marvilla Wallace Erb. She passed away at Westview Acres Retirement home in Leon, Iowa on February 28, 2011. Mary lived most of her early life in Van Wert, Iowa. She was married to Arnold on May 27, 1945 and... Read More	Mary Louise Erb Coffey was born July 6, 1926 in Osceola, Iowa. She was the daughter of Otis LaValley and Minnie Marvilla Wallace Erb. She passed away at Westview Acres Retirement home in Leon, Iowa on February 28, 2011. Mary lived most of her early life in Van Wert, Iowa. In 1943, she, along with her family moved to a farm west of Garden Grove. She started her sophomore year at the Garden Grove High School where she met her future husband, Arnold Coffey. She was married to Arnold on May 27, 1945 and they farmed all their married lives in the Garden Grove and Humeston areas until Arnold's deatj om 1990. The couple was blessed with three children, Louise Wright of San Antonio, Tx., Ed of Garden Grove and Ron of Council Bluffs. She is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great grand children. Mary was a homemaker until the children were in high school, when she went to work at Jimmie's Highway Cafe in Humeston as a cook. She was known for her homemade pies. Later she served as a cook at the Mormon Trail High SChool until her retirement. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, Everette and Harrison Erb, sister Martha Rutledge and her husband Arnold. Besides her children and grand children, she is survived by a brother-in-law Roger Coffey of Council Bluffs, sister in law Inez Erb, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. The sermon was conducted from the Humeston Christian United Methodist Church on Friday, March 4, 2011. Officating was Paster Dale O'Connell. The music was accompanied by pianist Jayma Smith, and congregational hymn "I'll Fly Away", recorded musical selection "Mansion Over the Hilltop" Elvis Presley.
