Mary Louise Dillon was born Sept. 1, 1908 to Timothy J. and Elizabeth Flinn Hurley on a farm northeast of Glasco, Kans. She died and received her heavenly call to glory on Palm Sunday, April 4, 1993, at Nicol Home in Glasco. She was 84 years, 7 months and 3 days of age. Louise, as she was known, spent her childhood years on the family farm near Aurora, Kans. She attended school in Aurora, and graduated from the Aurora Convent High School in the class of 1926. It was on Nov. 12, 1935 that Louise was united in the bonds of Holy Matrimony to Francis Charles Dillon at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Glasco. This happy and blessed union was enhanced and enriched by four children: Terry, Jean, John and Michael. The family made their home in the Glasco community. Louise was a constant source of love, devotion, and inspiration to all. She loved children, and taught school for several years. She was a kind, loving and faithful companion and wife to her husband. As a mother, she took special pride in providing a warm, loving, and nurturing home for them. She loved music, had a lovely soprano voice, and sang for many years in church choir. Her home was always open to the neighborhood children, and always had a tasty snack ready for them. Her continuous smile, regardless of the situation at hand will never be forgotten. A faithful and devoted member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Louise exemplified her love and devotion to the church in many ways. She was proud of her Irish and Catholic heritage, and lived the ideals of Catholicism to the fullest. Louise was very active in the church altar guild. She was a member of the Glasco V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her parents, and her beloved son John Dillon. Left to cherish fond memories and celebrate her life are her husband Francis of the home; three children, Terry Dillon and wife Suzie of Chicago, Ill.; Jean Reiter, Halstead, Kans.; and Michael Dillon and wife Sherry, Glasco; one brother, Lawrence Hurley and wife Lovena, Concordia; and three grandchildren, Scott Reiter, Salina; David Reiter, Halstead; and Lance Cochran, Glasco. The St. Mary's Catholic Church Choir provided the music with Mrs. Irma Ethridge as organist. Casket bearers were Scott Reiter, David Reiter, Lance Cochran, Matt Dillon, Scott Chapman, and Mark Reeves. Interment was in the Glasco Cemetery, Glasco, Kansas.
