Milbern Goetz of Peace Lutheran Church is officiating at the 10 a.m., closed-casket service at his church, to which Mrs. Fonte belonged. Visitation and viewing is 10 a.m, Thursday until 8 a.m. Friday at Chancy-Walters Funeral Home. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery .Mrs. Fonte was born Nov. 1,1910, in Sterling to Joseph and Theresa (Ricco) Manuello. She graduated from Logan County High School in 1930.After graduation Mrs. Fonte went to work for the Meyer Store as an alteration lady.On Feb. 23, 1936, she married Henry Kaepernik in Broadwater, Neb.She worked at Meyer Store forseven years and then worked at Montgomery Wards until 1952.Her husband died April 22, 1964.Mrs. Fonte held her interest in Kaepernik Excavating until selling to the present owner in 1975.On June 25, 1970, she married Carl Fonte in Sterling. Mrs. Fonte was active in the hospital auxiliary for several years, had interests in cattle and farming, and participated in several soil conservation service projects.She was a member of Colorado Cowbelles, Colorado Cattlemen's Association and Peace Lutheran Church Women. Survivors include her husband, of Sterling; two brothers, Joe Manuello, and Frank Manuello and wife Lillie, all of Sterling; and a sister-in-law, Creta Manuello of Sterling. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Tony, Jim and John Manuello. Chaney-Walters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Contributions: Devonshire Acres or Peace Lutheran Church Women.
