Description	:	Frank E. Manuelo, 90, of Sterling, died Jan. 28 at his home. Visitation and viewing will begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31 at the Chaney-Walters Funeral Home chapel. Vigil service will follow at 7 p.m. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Iliff with the Rev. Adalberto DeGante officiating. Burial will be at River side Cemetery. Mr. Manuello was born on July 5, 1905 to Joseph and Teresa (Ricco) Manuello in San Benignio, Italy. He moved to Logan County with his family when he was five years old. He began farming with his brothers in several areas in Logan County. He was also a horse buyer in addition to farming. He married Lela DeSoto on May 9, 1935 in Sterling. After the marriage, he and his father-in-law, James DeSoto, purchased the former JB Ranch. He continued, along with his sons and grandson, to be active in the farming and cattle operation until his death. He was an avid sports fan and played baseball with the Sanders Baseball team. He was also a member of the St. Catherine of Sienna Church of Iliff. He is survived by his wife Lela of Sterling; children Don and Maren, Jim and Lynn, and Judy Armstrong, all of Sterling; Kent Armstrong of Sterling; brothers-in- law, John Bianco, Tom and wife Jenevieve, Stan and Rose Guenzi, Oats DeSoto, John and Mary and Carl Fonte, all of Sterling, and Pert and wife Grace Accomasso of Atwood; a sister-in-law, Angie DeSoto of Sterling; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Tony, John, Jim and Joe, and a sister, Mary Fonte. Memorials may be made to the Frank E. Manuello memorial fund.
