REILLY The death occurred in Lord Dufferin Hospital, Orangeville, on Friday June 16th, of Mary Mann, widow of the late Wm. H. Reilly of Grand Valley, in her 77th year. It will be remembered that Mrs. Reilly fell at her home four weeks prior to her death and broke her left hip bone. She was subsequently removed to the Lord Dufferin Hospital by ambulance where she was made as comfortable as circumstances would permit, but the broken bone was never set. Mrs. Reilly was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Mann of East Garafraxa, and was born in that township. In March 1884, she was married to Mr. Wm. H. Reilly of East Luther, and together they resided in Amaranth township for about 35 years. Five years ago the estimable couple moved to Grand Valley, where they intended to retire. Mr. Reilly predeceased her on March 27th, 1941. During the winter months, since the death of Mr. Reilly, Mrs. Reilly made her home with members of the family in Toronto and only a few weeks ago returned to Grand Valley to take up her home for the summer months. Especially in the patriotic organizations will her services be missed in Grand Valley. Since the war started, Mrs. Reilly has knitted 172 pairs of socks for the Grand Valley Red Shield of the Salvation Army in Orangeville. She was a kindly woman and will be greatly missed in the family circle, as well as a good neighbor and friend. She is survived by five sons, Robt. J., Ochre River, Man.; Trooper Lloyd, overseas; Ernest W., East Luther; and Oliver G. Harvey, Toronto; and four daughters Mrs. H. Morris (Ethel), Winnipeg, Man.; Mrs. J. Hodgson (Laura0, Newtonbrook; Mrs. N. Edwards (Florence) and Mrs. D. McCuaig (Mabel) Toronto. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Jane Adair, Toronto, and Mrs. Wm. Langtree, Fergus. She also leaves seven great grandchildren and 23 grandchildren. Service was held at her late home, Ponsford Street, Grand Valley, on Sunday afternoon, June 18th, in charge of Rev. J. A. McDermid, of Trinity United Church. Interment took place in the Union Cemetery. The pallbearers were her three grandsons, Herbert and Earl Edwards and Gordon Hodgson, and three nephews, Meredith Reilly, Wesley Reilly and Royce Reilly. Friends were present at the funeral from Toronto, Guelph, Shelburne, Fergus and Brighton. -------------------------
