Lauderdale, Florida. She was born August 3, 1917, in Highland County to the late Lewis and Stella Mercer. On November 20, 1924,she married James C. Patton who preceded her in death in April of 1977. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, John (Dr. Mary Lou Patton, Brecksville, Ohio and James M. (Joann) Patton, Chillicothe; daughters, Kay (James) Cooksey, Orland, Fla., Rosemary Roush, Ft. Lauderdale, 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Frances Wiggins, Columbus, Ohio, Hilda Lucas, Kathryn Karnes, both of Greenfield, and Jeanette Miller, Hillsboro. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and had celebrated over 50 years of marriage with her husband, James. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, August 19, 1998, in the Hope Miller Thompson Funeral Home, East Main Street, Hillsboro. Burial was in Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call 5-9 P.M. Tuesday (today) at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to any Hospice.
