Forsythe of Cleveland, Ohio, where she had been making her home for the past few months. She had been in ill health for several years and her passing was not unexpected. The body was taken to the W. Burial will be made... Read More	Mrs. Mary Smith Forsythe, a lifelong resident of Canonsburg, died yesterday at the home of her son, Dr. S. T. Forsythe of Cleveland, Ohio, where she had been making her home for the past few months. She had been in ill health for several years and her passing was not unexpected. The body was taken to the W. H. McNary funeral home from which place the funeral services will be held Friday afternoon and will be in charge of her pastor, the Rev. Donald A. Spencer of the Chartiers United Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in Oak Spring Cemetery. Mrs. Forsythe was a member of this congregation for many years, having joined in her childhood. She was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Smith and was born December 30, 1861, in the old Smith homestead at the corner of Greenside avenue and East Pike street, now occupied by the Elks Lodge. Her husband. A. M. Forsythe, died several years ago and was a prominent business man, having operated a tailoring establishment for many years and was later in the moving picture business. Mrs. Forsythe is survived by two sons, Dr. S. t. Forsythe, at whose home she died and Earle M. Forsythe of Beaver, besides one brother, Clark Smith of 123 Vine Street and two sisters, Mrs. Triphena Arnold of Thompsonville, and Mrs. Annetta Carter of Canonsburg. Several grandchildren also survive. - The Daily Notes (Canonsburg), Wednesday, July 12, 1933 p. 1. Many friends attended the funeral services for Mrs. A. M. Forsythe held Friday afternoon at the McNary Funeral Home. the Rev. A. D. Spencer, pastor of the Chartiers U. P. church conducted the services and two sacred selections were sung by Miss Dorothy M. Black. Interment was in the Oak Spring cemetery, the pall bearers being Samuel Smith, William Arnold, Herbert McDonald, James Rankin, Harry Cook and Charles Haynes. For many years, Mrs. Forsythe was an esteemed resident of West College street, and it has been only a few months ago that she left the city to reside with her son Dr. S. T.
