She had been failing health for several years. Funeral services were held in Victor, Wednesday afternoon at the McAninch chapel in charge of Rev. W. J. Fowler. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Mrs. George Montgomery sang two selections "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden" accompanied by Mrs. George Keller. Born Aug. 4, 1874, at Gamber, OH., Mrs. Norton was the daughter of Mahlon and Lois McArtor. On Mar. 21, 1883, she was married in Iowa county to James L. Norton. She had lived in Ohio, Tennessee, Ladora and Des Moines before going to California in 1939. Mr. Norton died Dec. 10, 1930. Mrs. Norton was a member of the Methodist church and Ruby Rebekah lodge at Victor. She is survived by three children, Mrs. John Messer of Deep River, Earl Norton of Monterey Park, CA., and Orville Norton of Kellogg. Her parents, husband and two brothers preceded her in death.
