Description	:	Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Ofelia Rohner Glaser, 82, Emporia, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, 102 S. Exchange St., Emporia. The Rev. Richard Warsnak will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Glaser died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009. She was born March 12, 1927, the daughter of Dr. Frank J. and Filomena de Plaza Monreal Rohner. She was born March 12, 1927, the daughter of Dr. Frank J. and Filomena de Plaza Monreal Rohner. She grew up in Iowa City, Iowa, and graduated from the University of Iowa before starting a short career as a registered dietitian with the University of Oregon Medical School in Portland. Mrs. Glaser and her husband moved to Emporia in 1953, and they created a scholarship program at Flint Hills Technical College, and the Donald and Mary Glaser Distinguished Professorship in the Engraving Arts at Emporia State University. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church Altar Society, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary and Fortune Study Club. She also enjoyed college football and basketball and collecting Depression glass and other glassware. She married Donald A. Glaser in 1951 in Iowa City. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Edward Rohner and Dr. William Rohner. Survivors include a son, Donald J. Glaser and wife Linda, Emporia; two daughters, Diane Harrop and husband Randy, Douglas, Wyo.; and Deborah A. Koons and husband Gaylen, Lawrence; six grandchildren, Melissa, Deon and Dr. Sarah Glaser, Steven R. and William Donald Harrop and Tracy Koons Rockers; two brothers, Frank Rohner, Texas, and John R. Rohner, Asheville, N.C.; two sisters, Filomena Winegardner, Iowa City, and Teresa Kopel, Spencer, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Thursday, November 19, 2009 ljworld
