They were the parents of Lincoln Horace, John Albert, Jesse Cooper, Laura, and Agnes. The Chronicle, Odebolt, Iowa - April 6, 1888 - The death of Mrs Davenport, wife of C.L. Davenport of this city which occurred on Sunday evening last was a surprise to the community. She had been ill for two weeks but her condition was not considered critical until the day preceding her death, when it was discovered that blood poisoning occasioned by an internal abscess had set in. She suffered intensely during her last hours but retained consciousness and waited with resignation for the final summons. Mrs Davenport was born in England and was within a few days of 55 years of age at the time of her death. She was married to C.L. Davenport in 1853 and resided in Clinton county from 1856 to 1883 when they removed to this county. Three sons: Lincoln, Albert, and Jesse and one daughter, Mrs D Correll, were born to them. Lincoln resides in Clinton county, Albert and Mrs Correll near Odebolt and Jesse has been spending the winter in California. Telegrams were sent to the absent sons on Sunday. Lincoln arrived on Monday and Jesse is expected today (Friday). The funeral services will probably be held on Saturday. 1893 - C.L. Davenport married Mary Parnell. He was a native of Sandusky county, Ohio, and now resides in Odebolt, Iowa. Mary was born in Westmoreland county, England, and died in 1888, aged fifty-five years. Mr. and Mrs. Davenport had, five children, four now living: Laura, Albert, and Lincoln residing near Odebolt; and Jessie, living in Odebolt.
