D., after a long illness at the age of 88 years. 8 months and 11 days. Mary Johnston was born in Ireland, August 15 1836 and came to America in her 16th year, and with her parents settled at Galena, Ill. Here she made her home until her marriage to Patrick Boden, of Elkader, Ia [December 1, 1861]. They moved to Union county, S. D., in the fall of 1877, where she resided until her death.... D., after a long illness at the age of 88 years. 8 months and 11 days. Mary Johnston was born in Ireland, August 15 1836 and came to America in her 16th year, and with her parents settled at Galena, Ill. Here she made her home until her marriage to Patrick Boden, of Elkader, Ia [December 1, 1861]. They moved to Union county, S. D., in the fall of 1877, where she resided until her death. Their union was blessed with four sons and four daughters. Those left to mourn her loss are: John J. Boden, of Duluth,Minn.; Charles V., Henry, and Rose S. Boden and Mrs. Charles McConville all of Akron. There are 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Grandma Boden, as she was familiarly known, had been an invalid for the past 27 years and during that time was never heard to complain. She dearly loved children and always had them about her, and all through her long illness, even to the last, she kept a keen interest in her home and children who will miss her more than words can tell. Funeral services were held in St. Patrick's Catholic church last Friday morning and Interment was made in the Akron Catholic cemetery. Friends and relatives from Mitchell, S. D., LeMars and Sioux City, Burbank, and Vermillion, S. D., came to attend her funeral.
