Mary grew up around Greeley, graduating from high school there. She was married to Clyde Warford on June 29, 1914. They made their home around Scotia where they farmed. Clyde also worked for Standard Oil products. They also were mail carriers for the Star Route from Scotia to Ericson. When Clyde died in 1951, Mary took over the mail route herself and carried the mail from 1951 to 1962 when she retired to her home in Scotia. Survivors include three sons, Gerald Warford and his wife, Barbra, of Elba, George Warford of Grand Island and Gilbert (Max) Warford and his wife, Vivian of Sacramento, CA; two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Luella) Bradley of Mountlake Terrace, WA and Mrs. Paul (Lucille) Sweeney of Jacksonville, FL.; three sisters, Mrs. Willa Peterson of Portland, OR, Mrs. Florence Steger of Atwater, CA, and Mrs. Laura Gilbert of Denver, CO; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters. Services will be held Friday, May 13, 1983 at 2 pm at the Scotia United Methodist Church.
