| Description | : | Mary Young Watters (1813-1893) married Benjamin Rigdon in 1847. He died just 2 years later, leaving Mary a young widow who raised their son, George Benjamin Rigdon. Mary was the oldest of the 4 daughters of John and Esther Young Watters of Cooptown. Her father had died suddenly when Mary was 16, leaving her mother with 12 children (2 sets of twins). She lived her entire life on the farm in Cooptown and was buried in the William Watters Methodist Church Cemetery near their home. |
