She was the third child, second daughter to survive to majority. Barely a year separates her marriage to Lyman C Bailey and to Thomas Jefferson Lewis Peck. The only individual names Lyman Baily in Jasper County has been found listed as Lyman S. C. Baily (Parents Joseph Baily 1807–1858 and Elizabeth J McCoy 1810–1882) [Note: A recent email from one of her great grandkids, revealed that Mr Bailey was a minister, yet was discovered in the bed of another woman by Maryetta and she divorced him in December of 1872, marrying TJL Peck in December of the following year updated April 2010]. It appears that Bailey remarried in 1876 and he died in Jasper County in 1915. "WILL PROBATED Reuben N. Reese Granted Pigg Estate Letters. Letters testamentary were granted to Reuben N. Reese by Probate Judge Imel yesterday in the estate of Mrs. Sarah Ann Pigg, who died September 14, Mrs. Pigg's will was admitted to probate. The sum of $2 is left by Mrs. Pigg to her daughter, Mrs. Marietta Peck, wife of T. J. L Peck. It is stated in the will that Mrs. Peck received her share in the estate from her father. One lot in Highley's addition is left to Reuben N. Reese to be used In the maintenance of Thomas F. Pilgg. a son. The remainder of the estate, said to comprise five houses, estimated to be valued at $5,000, is to be divided between Reese, two daughters, Mrs Euphemia Krigline and Mrs. Georgia Titus, and a son, Gustavus D. Anna Haffner 1923) Plus two unknown children - the four year break in the birth years of their children suggests that these unknown children may have been born sometime between 1882 and 1886. Garfield County (NE) records reveals that there is a "Peck Family Plot" in the area with a notation of two unnamed Peck children. A great granddaughter revealed that Thomas JL and Maryetta were not buried together, but in different cemeteries in the Huron area - his obituary notes he was in the Riverside Cemetery, but he was not found in the online listing for that cemetery. But since these records seemed to be far from complete, I have listed her at Riveside until information to the suggest otherwise is discovered. SD Death Index 1905-1955: Maryette died 30 July in Beadle Co, SD State Registration #110743 A family closely allied with the Peck family was that of James and Sarah Schamp. Peck boys, Thomas Wm and Charley B, married sisters. In Lucy Peck's obituary, a brother - Joseph - was named and postings to Internet confirm this alliance - noting that their parents were James L Schamp and Sarah Sutton. In addition, a recently unknown daughter, Maryetta - born in 1882, married a son of this family, Skyler S. Schamp in 1897. Notes: 1. The South Dakota State Historical Society - WPA Database did confirm the she was buried separate from Thomas J.L. (G.L.K 10/10/2018) ORLIE PECK was buried in the State School & Home Cemetery, Redfield, Spink Co. (There is no Internet information about this cemetery, as is common, if there was a cemetery attached to this state facility, it may have fell into disrepair after the school closed.)
