She had married briefly in 1862 to Daniel Reese and had given birth to a son - Reuben Reese. She had married briefly in 1862 to Daniel Reese and had given birth to a son - Reuben Reese. A search on the Kansas Historical Society website affirmed that she was a registered Midwife for Republic County with the Kansas Board of Health and Dickman's Medical Directory for Kansas , 1893- 1898. "WILL PROBATED Reuben N. Reese Granted Pigg Estate Letters. Letters testamentary were granted to Reuben N. Reese by Probate Judge Imel yesterday in the estate of Mrs. Sarah Ann Pigg, who died September 14. Mrs. Pigg's will was admitted to probate. The sum of $2 is left by Mrs. Pigg to her daughter, Mrs. Marietta Peck, wife of T. J. L Peck. It is stated in the will that Mrs. Peck received her share in the estate from her father. One lot in Highley's addition is left to Reuben N. Reese to be used In the maintenance of Thomas F. Pilgg. a son. The remainder of the estate, said to comprise five houses, estimated to be valued at $5,000, is to be divided between Reese, two daughters, Mrs Euphemia Krigline and Mrs. Georgia Titus, and a son, Gustavus D. Pigg." St. Joseph Gazette (Missouri), Sep 17, 1907, Page 3 Obituary - Mrs. Euphemia Krigline Mrs. Euphemia Krigline, 91, pioneer resident of Republic county, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S.H. Horkman, 724 Winfield, where she had made her home for two years. Mrs. Krigline was born September 28, 1846, in Virginia, moved to Des Moines, Ia., with her parents when a young girl and in the early '70's she and her husband, John Krigline, located a homestead in Republic county. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and also a member of the Spanish War Veterans auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary, and the Woman's Relief Corps. She is survived by three sons, George and Henry Krigline, Topeka, and Ruben Reese, Jr., of St Joseph, Mo., and her daughter, Mrs. Horkman. Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. Tuesday at the Wall-Diffenderfer mortuary. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Concordia, Kan. When she was six years old she moved to Jasper county, Iowa. There grew to womanhood. At the age of 15, she joined the Methodist church in 1862. She married to Daniel Reese; to this union one son was born, named Reuben, who now lives in St Joseph, Mo. Mr Reese died in the union army. On June 16, 1866 was married to John Krigline and to this union was born six children; two girls and four boys. In 1868, they came to Kansas. They first settled in Washington county and in 1871 came to Republic county. Two sons, John Francis & Joseph Thomas died in infancy, one daughter Margaret died some years ago. Mr. Krigline died Aug 6, 1928. He was a Civil War veteran. Mrs Krigline died June 5, 1938. She leaves to mourn her passing three sons and one daughter - Mrs Sam Horkman, Topeka, Kan. And Reuben Reese of St Joseph, Mo., Henry and George Krigline of Topeka. Grandchildren are Harry & Henry Stevens of Kansas City, Joe Stevens, Pearle Smelser of Topeka, Lillie Fiddler of Denver, Colo., Mrs Marie Shirley of Grantville, Kan., Mrs. Lillie Elliot of DeNova, Colo., Mrs. Lulu Ames and Mrs. Nellie Awalt of Scandia and Samuel John Horkman of Topeka. Mrs Krigline was a member of W.R.C. and the U.S.W.V. and the Veteran of Foreign War auxillary. She was a very kind and faithful mother to her children and grandchildren. It was her delight to help the sick and she was loved by all who knew her. One sister, Mrs. Georgianna Titmus of Pittsburg, Pa and a brother, Guss Pigg of Des Moines, Ia are still living.
