She had been in failing health the past several years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McKown Funeral chapel with the Rev. Homer C. Dickerson in charge. Burial will be in the Columbus Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the McKown chapel after 1 p.m. Tuesday. ... Mrs. Herring, daughter of the late Frederick and Bertha Gottberg, was born March 15, 1865 in Brooklyn, N.Y. She married William E. Plath in 1880 Passaic, N.J. In 1881 they came to Platte county where they farmed for a time, later moving to Humphrey. Nine children were born to this union. In 1909 she married William H. Curry. They lived on a farm near David City, then moved to Columbus, where she spend the rest of her life. Mr. Curry died in 1920. In 1925 she married Herman Herring, and he preceded her in death in 1929. Mrs. Herring was a member of the First Methodist church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. William Hosher and Mrs. Leo Woerth of Columbus and Mrs. Charles Godbersen of Vancouver, B.C.; one son, Albert Plath of Great Falls, Mont.; 10 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren in British Columbus. She as preceded in death by five children and six brothers and sisters."
