Description	:	MRS MATHILDA SCHLEGEL Mathilda Louise Emelie Kuhlmeier was born August 18, 1866, near Rock Grove, Stephenson county, Ill, and departed this life February 27, 1929, at her home near Marquette, Neb., at the age of 62 years, six months, nine days. She was united in marriage February 23, 1890, to Edward Julius Schlegel of Stephenson county, Ill, and located west of Marquette, later moving to the farm three miles south of Marquette, where she lived at the time of her death, residing there 27 years. Read More	MRS MATHILDA SCHLEGEL Mathilda Louise Emelie Kuhlmeier was born August 18, 1866, near Rock Grove, Stephenson county, Ill, and departed this life February 27, 1929, at her home near Marquette, Neb., at the age of 62 years, six months, nine days. She was united in marriage February 23, 1890, to Edward Julius Schlegel of Stephenson county, Ill, and located west of Marquette, later moving to the farm three miles south of Marquette, where she lived at the time of her death, residing there 27 years. Mr Schlegel passed away April 12, 1924. To this union were born nine children, six of whom survive. She was one of four daughters, and five sons, three brothers of whom survive. At the age of 14 she was confirmed at St Paul's German church. She was a member of the German Lutheran church at Aurora, Neb, but attended the Richland United Brethern church whenever her health permitted. In her private life she was plain and void of artific. She found her happiest hours around the family fireside at work and among her friends. Her last few months are a story of patient suffering never complaining. Her simple faith in God's fidelity to the things she deemed right, her loyalty to human interests are an inspiration to all who knew her. She did not live in vain, she wrought much for her family and for others. Those left to mourn are the six children, Elmer Edward of Marquette, who is now in a government hospital at Hot Springs, S D, unable to be here; Mrs Jollie Rodabaugh of Phillips; Amelia, Sadie, Cora and Lydia of Marquette; also three grandchildren, Emery and Weldon, Ester Marie and Bertha Ellen Rodabaugh; also three brothers, Fred Kuhlmeier of Dakota, Ill, Henry Kuhlmeier of Chancellor, S D, and August Kuhlmeier of Rock City, Ill, the latter present at the funeral, other relatives and a host of friends.
