Description	:	Mathilda (sic) Marie Catherine Freytag, daughter of Frederick Freytag and his wife, Catherine nee Rohrs, was born January 22, 1870, in Napolean township, Henry County, Ohio. She was baptized February 5, 1870, in the Lutheran Church by Pastor H. Strauhs. On April 13th, 1884, she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Auburn, Nebraska, thereupon receiving her first communion. She was united in marriage on May (sic) 9th, 1888 to Wilhelm Dankenbring, Rev. John With performing the ceremony. They moved to Thayer Co. in the spring of 1889. Mr. Dankenbring passed away January 23, 1916. Ten children were born to this union. Three proceeded (sic) their mother in death. On April 21st, 1930, she entered a second marriage with Mrs. H.F. Grueber. She passed away suddenly last Thursday morning, November20th (sic) at the age of 77 years,9 months, and 29 days. She is survived by her husband, H.F. Greuber (sic), her children, Lester and Roy Dankenbring of Bird City, Kansas, Leonard (sic) and Mrs. William Bahe of Goodland, Kansas, Oscar Dunkenbring of Hebron, Arnold and (sic) Mrs. Otto Bunjes of St. Francis, Kansas. The three children who passed on were, Edwin, Leota, and Leona. She also leaves 24 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Four sisters: Mrs. Ida Swartz, Lomita, California, Mrs. Kate Swartz, Republic, Kansas, Mrs. Lydia Jensen, Culberson (sic), Nebraska, and Mrs. Helen Brown, of Lincoln. Two brothers: Fred of Rapid City, South Dakota and Karl of Byron. Two sisters preceeded her in death, Mrs. Mary Riley and Mrs. Lela Craig, also two brothers, Henry and John Freytag. She is also survived by eight step-children. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Church on Sunday November 23rd, at 2 oclock (sic) and burial was at Parish Cemetary (sic). The relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Kate Swartz of Republic, Kansas, Mrs. Helen Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Grueber of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Ehrich Louis, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wilgers and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dankenbring of Palme Kansas, Mrs. Christine Pike of Beatrice, Mrs. Clara Belle Erkenbrack of Imperial, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Oecoback of Republic, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoops of Kimbell, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. William Fintel of Deshler and Mr. and Mrs. Gustie Bostelman of Chester.
