Read More	Obituary from Glasco Sun, 3/11/1926: While the condition of Mrs. George Nowels who passed away Tuesday, has been such that her death would not have been unexpected, yet the number of times which she rallied during the past week and showed improvement led her many friends to hope for an ultimate recovery and news of her passing came as a severe shock and was received with sincere regret by all the people of the community, who even though that might not have had the pleasure of her personal acquaintance and friendship shared the general high regard and esteem for her as an exemplary wife and mother. The bereaved husband and family have the heart felt sympathy of all. Matie Gray was born March 8, 1884 on a farm north of Glasco and died at her home near Glasco March 9, 1926 being a few hours more than 42 years of age. She was united in marriage to George W. Nowels October 16, 1906. To this union were born nine children. Three sons and six daughters all of who are living except on daughter, Florence, who died in infancy August 21, 1912. She united with the Presbyterian Church of Glasco in 1900 and continued a faithful member until death. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Priscilla Chapter 260, Glasco. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, three sons, and five daughters, her father J. M. Gray of Coyle, Oklahoma and one sister Mrs. Florence Bundy of Glasco also a number of other relatives and a large circle of friends.
