Funeral services in charge of the Rev W. Fred Martin, pastor of the First English Lutheran church of Omaha, were held Sunday at the Community Presbyterian church of Waterloo. Short services were held at the home at 1:30. Mr. and Mrs. Seefus have been residents of Douglas county for thirty-four years and are widely known in the community. There was a large attendance at the final rites. Mrs. Seefus was baptized confirmed and married in the German Lutheran faith. She will be remembered as a kind friend and loving wife and mother. Mrs. Matilda D. Seefus (nee Bartels) was born December 31, 1872 at Brookfield, LaSalle county, Ill. And at the age of ten years moved with her parents to Papillion, Nebr. On March 2, 1890 she was united in marriage to Charles F. Seefus, to which union were born three sons and five daughters. Two daughters preceded her in death. Surviving are the husband, the sons, William J. of Waterloo, Leslie and Rollo C. of Valley, and the daughters, Mrs. E. F. Zwiebel and Esther of Waterloo and Mrs. William Peterson of Yutan; two brothers, William and Albert Bartels of Papillion; three sisters, Mrs. T. C. Thompson, Fremont, Mrs. William Eichner, Gretna, and Mrs. Walter Hanger of Valley. There are also nine grandchildren. Burial was in Prospect Hill cemetery and pallbearers were J. F. Seefus, Charles Bauer, T. C. Thompson, William Eichner, Frank Bartels and Gust Bartels. Among those coming from a distance to attend the services were; Mr. and Mrs. John Seefus Scotia; Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Boehl, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Boehl, Mr. and Mrs. H. Holtz, Archer; Mrs. Carl Petersen, Central City; Mr and Mrs. Geo. Koehler, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Herman, Osceola; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Cunningham, South Omaha; Mr. and Mrs Fred Weisger, Fort Crook; Mr. AND Mrs. Ned Burke, Ashland; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Iske, Miss Lizzie Gillman, Mr. and Mrs. Anna Haglind, Omaha; and Mr. and Mrs.Mike Zwiebel, Papillion.
