Read More	Papillion Times, August 3, 1916 Mrs. Otto Timmermann Killed Mrs. Otto Timmermann, whose home is a few miles south of Valley, was almost instantly killed last Friday evening at about 6 o'clock when she and her husband jumped from their buggy when their spirited team ran away. One of the lines caught under the tail of one of the fiery animals which immediately became frightened and started to run, soon getting beyond control of Mr. Timmermann who was driving. Both jumped, Mrs. Timmermann alighting on her head and shoulders and fracturing her skull. Her husband was thrown to the ground and sustained a few painful bruises but otherwise was unhurt. When he arose and rushed to the side of his wife he found she had already expired, death coming almost instantly. Maria Timmermann, nee Bartels, was born July 17, 1877, in Seneca, LaSalle County, Illinois and moved with her parents to near Papillion March 1, 1882, locating on the Bartels farm about three miles southwest of Papillion. She was married to Otto Timmermann at Papillion March 20, 1907. She resided here until March 1, 1915, when they moved to the Chris Jensen farm 3 ½ miles southwest of Waterloo, where they had since made their home. She is survived by her husband, and by two brothers, Albert and William, of near Papillion; and five sisters, Mrs. Chas. Bauer and Mrs. William Eichner of near Gretna; Mrs. C. F. Seefus, Mrs. H. W. Seefus and Mrs. T. C. Thompson, of near Waterloo. The remains were taken to the home near Waterloo. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, short services were held at the late home after which the remains were taken to Papillion where the services were held at the German Lutheran church of which the deceased was a member for a number of years. The services were conducted by Rev. A. W. Siebert, pastor of the church, and were attended by a large number of relatives and friends of the deceased. The remains were laid to rest in the Sautter cemetery north of town. In the sudden and tragic death of Mrs. Timmermann her husband has been deprived of the love and companionship of a true and devoted wife, whose untimely death has cast a shadow of gloom over the entire community. Her brothers and sisters will sadly miss her from the family circle and scores of friends grieve with the disconsolate husband and brothers and sisters. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved families.
