Description	:	Boone County Democrat Aug 4, 1905 Mathew Henry Clark, one of the oldest and best known residents of the Fifth ward, died at his home, 909 West Sixth Street, at 12:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, July 30th after a long and painful illness. The immediate cause of death was blood poisoning resulting from an operation for a tumor on the neck, with which he has suffered for several months. Read More	Boone County Democrat Aug 4, 1905 Mathew Henry Clark, one of the oldest and best known residents of the Fifth ward, died at his home, 909 West Sixth Street, at 12:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, July 30th after a long and painful illness. The immediate cause of death was blood poisoning resulting from an operation for a tumor on the neck, with which he has suffered for several months. Deceased was born in New Britain, Conn, August 8th, 1846 and was 58 years old at the time of his death. He came to Boone in 1866 and has resided here ever since. He was a house mover by trade, and was well known all over the county and highly respected for his strict business integrity. He leaves a widow, five sons Charles, Fred, Dan., George and Leroy; two brothers, Adrian and Elbert of Des Moines, and one sister, Mrs. Lloyd Payne residing near Jordan, to mourn his untimely death, and who have the sincere sympathy of the community in their bereavement. The funeral services were held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon from the home conducted by the Rev. J.C. Crawford, burial in East Linwood.
