Description	:	Fairfield — Mrs. Sherman Morris, 85, died May 29, at 7 a.m., in Jefferson County hospital. Death terminated a 3-month illness. The former Mattie C. Harlan, Mrs. Morris had lived for 67 years on the same farm 3 miles northeast of Stockport and was born on a farm one-half mile from it. Mrs. Morris was educated in the rural schools of Van buren county, and later attended Drake University, Des moines, where she became a member of University Christian church. She was also a member of OES chapter at Hillsboro. Surviving are a son, Harlan Morris, Stockport; 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Morris was the last member of a family of 9 children, 4 brothers and 4 sisters having died previously. Last rites will conducted by Rev. Roger Swearingen, pastor of the Methodist Church of Stockport, at 4 p.m. Saturday in Spencer cemetery, at Stockport. The body is at the Weston-Behner funeral home in Fairfield.
