He was a lifetime member of the North Dakota Firemen’s Association. Survivors: wife, mother, Mrs. Rose Ackerman, Kenmare; daughter, Mrs. Fred (Adele) Gartner, Houston, Texas; sons, Allen, Kenmare, and Rollan, Minot; sisters, Mrs. Leo Schmitz, Custer, S.D., Mrs. Lloyd Mattern, Kenmare, Mrs. Marilyn Kalmbach, Flaxton, Mrs. Jim Bartuska, Mohall, and Mrs. James Clark, Wilbur, Wash.; brothers, Lawrence, Elgin, Peter, Minot, J.J. (Bud) Ackerman, Alvin, James and Leroy, all Kenmare; and six grandchildren. Friends may call at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, until 5 today.
